  • Tell me about your office

    We are an independently owned practice with 7 pediatricians and 3 nurse practitioners operating out of three offices in Lancaster, Brownstown, and Mt Joy.

  • At which hospitals do you see babies?

    Lancaster General Health-Penn Medicine, and UPMC- Pinnacle Lititz When do you first see a baby in the hospital? We see all babies within 24h of their birth, and then daily until discharge.

  • When do you normally see a baby after discharge?

    We will usually see your baby within 24-48h of discharge. At that visit you will see a provider and one of our lactation consultants if you are breast feeding your newborn.

  • What is the schedule after that?

    If your baby is doing well and has no feeding or jaundice issues, we will see him at 2 weeks of age, then at 1mo, 2mo, 4mo, 6mo, 9mo and 12mo as recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics. If there are concerns about feeding, jaundice or weight gain, he might need to be seen prior to the 2 week visit.

  • What if the baby is sick?

    Our office offers nurse triage by phone, done by licensed nursed and using pediatric specific triage protocols from 7:30 am until 6 pm Monday through Friday and we have same day sick appointments available for our patients Monday through Saturday. Our website also has an approved “symptom checker” and additional information for you to use that might help answer some of your questions.

  • What about nights and weekends?

    Our physicians are on call 24/7, 365d/year to help address after hours questions and emergencies. We prefer you call us first, prior to going to an urgent care center or an emergency room, because we can sometimes prevent those visits and can offer home care or advice to get you through until the office reopens.

  • Who returns telephone calls during the day?

    Our nurses will try to take calls as they come in, but in busy times, they may need to return your call. They will also call with lab or x-ray results or with other information at the direction of a provider.

  • How does the office handle insurance claims?

    We will submit claims to insurance for the plans with which we participate or have a contract. For all others, you will be expected to pay at time of service and will provide you with a receipt to submit to your insurance company. We do expect all co-pays to be paid at the time of the visit and all patient responsibility after insurance to be paid promptly. Please call to check with our billing department if you have questions about which insurance plans we participate with.

  • Can I e-mail the office?

    Our Electronic Health Records has a patient portal that allows you to communicate securely with our office. We ask that you use it for non-urgent messages only. Our nurses will review messages and see that they get routed to the correct person in our office. You can use it for medication refill requests, questions for our nurses, or questions for your physician. Portal communication with our providers is a charged service.

  • What is your feeling about breast feeding?

    The providers at Eden Park Peds strongly support breastfeeding and we have two lactation consultants to help you to successfully breast feed your baby.
